Celebration of the Synodal Cathedral feast
Of the Kursk-Root Icon of Our Lady of the Sign
and
the 100th Anniversary of the Glorification
of Saint Seraphim of Sarov

IN BRIEF:

• Thee Council of Bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia opened at the Synodal Building in New York City on 13 Decmeber. It will convene until 16 December.  
• The Miracle-working Kursk-Root Icon of the Mother of God will visit St. Nicholas Cathedral in Seattle (Western American Diocese) on the feast day of the saint. His Eminence Metropolitan Laurus will officiate at the services.
• A report (in Russian) on the delegation of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad to Russia can be found at the German Diocese link.
• From 26-27 December, the Cathedral of Munich will host a conference. The following topics have been proposed: the Question of the Unity of the Russian Church Today (Archbishop Mark); A Half-century of Church Life in Germany; a Personal Experience (Protopr. Amvrosii Bakhaus); The Ecclesiology of Holy Martyr Kyrill of Kazan as the Basis for the Unity of the Russian Church (A.V. Zhuravsky, Professor of Theology). • The 39th Conference of Russian Orthodox Youth of the Australian Diocese will be held from 21 to 26 December in Sydney. The topic of the Conference: "Save Yourself, and a Thousand Around You will be Saved." Main speaker: Priest Andrew Phillips from Great Britain.
• November marks the 48th anniversary of the repose of Archbishop Ioassaf of Canada and Argentina of blessed memory.
