His Holiness Patriarch Daniel of Bulgaria visits Russian Gethsemane
On Saturday, September 26, 2026, His Holiness Patriarch Daniel of Bulgaria, accompanied by His Eminence Metropolitan Seraphim of Nevrokop and His Grace Bishop Gerasim of Melnik, visited the Monastery of Mary Magdalene, Equal-to-the-Apostles, in Gethsemane, of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia.
The Bulgarian delegation was greeted by Archimandrite Roman (Krassovsky), Chief of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem (Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia). Archimandrite Vassian (Zmeev), Head of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem of the Moscow Patriarchate, also took part in the meeting.
His Holiness familiarized himself with the history of the church, venerated its shrines, and honored the holy relics of the Holy Martyrs Elizabeth and Barbara, resting in the monastery's cathedral church.
The Primate of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church addressed the faithful with a word of guidance, thanked Archimandrite Roman for the reception, and then continued his pilgrimage to the holy sites of the Jerusalem Church.
