The Church of the Resurrection of Christ celebrates the feast day of St John of Shanghai and San Francisco the Miracle-worker
On Saturday, 4 July, 2026, the feast day of St John of Shanghai and San Francisco was celebrated in Meudon, near Paris, France, with special solemnity.
The great Saint holds a special place in the history of the Meudon Parish. While serving as an Archbishop, the future St John lived in Meudon for a year (in 1951) at the beginning of his long reign as Ruling Bishop of the Diocese, and established his cathedra in the Meudon temple. Thus the small Meudon Parish was granted the great blessing of receiving the future St John, who was later glorified by the Church and is today venerated throughout the world as a great Wonderworker.
All-night vigil was served in Meudon on Friday, 3rd July, and Divine Liturgy was celebrated on Saturday, 4 July.
On this day, for the veneration of the faithful, an icon of the Saint containing a particle of his incorrupt relics, as well as a prayer rope and panagia that belonged to St John were presented for veneration.
