Celebration of the Feast Day of the Cathedral of the Mother of God “Joy of All Who Sorrow” in San Francisco

On Thursday, November 6, 2025, on the commemoration of the Icon of the Mother of God "Joy of All Who Sorrow," solemn Divine Liturgy was held at the cathedral dedicated to the holy image in San Francisco, CA, preceded by all-night vigil the evening before.

The service was led by His Eminence Archbishop Kyrill of San Francisco and Western America, joined by His Grace Bishop Theodosius of Seattle and His Grace Bishop James of Sonora, along with clergy of the Western American Diocese. The priestly ranks were led by Archpriest Stefan Pavlenko.

The hymns of the festive service were performed by the Hierarchical Choir under the direction of Vladimir Krassovsky.

During the minor entrance, His Eminence performed the rite of installation of Abbess Ekaterina, of the Monastery of St Catherine the Great Martyr in Sonora, CA.

The celebration concluded with a festive meal arranged through the efforts of the cathedral sisterhood.
