Metropolitan Nicholas leads feast-day celebrations at Kazan Icon of the Mother of God Church

On Tuesday, 4 November, 2025, His Eminence Metropolitan Nicholas of Eastern America and New York, First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, celebrated Divine Liturgy at the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God Church in Newark, NJ. He was joined by Archpriest Mark Burachek, Rector of the parish, and guests in the clerical rank.

In his sermon, Metropolitan Nicholas referred to the Kazan Icon as one of the most beloved images in Russia, attested to by the words of the akathist dedicated to the icon, "Rejoice, o joy of Orthodox Christianity." His Eminence then congratulated Fr Mark and his parish, and awarded Alexander Milas with a diocesan decree of blessing.

The parish then hosted a trapeza feast.
