Metropolitan Mark of Berlin and Germany meets with His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem and All Palestine

On Wednesday, 17 April, 2024, His Eminence Metropolitan Mark of Berlin and Germany of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia met with His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem and All Palestine. Metropolitan Mark was accompanied by Archimandrite Roman (Krassovsky), Chief of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem of ROCOR.

Also attending was His Eminence Archbishop Aristarch of Constantina, Secretary General of the Holy Synod of the Jerusalem Patriarchate. His Beatitude attentively listened to accounts of life in the REM’s monasteries on the Mt of Olives, Gethsemane and Fara.

Metropolitan Mark gave an account of his recent visit to Serbia, where, concelebrating with His Holiness Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia, he celebrated the 45th anniversary of the repose of his own spiritual father, St Justin (Popovic).

Various other matters relating to the military conflict in Israel were discussed, as were inter-Orthodox relations.
