The House of Russia Abroad in Moscow will host a presentation of a book about Abbess Tamara of the Ascension of the Savior Convent on the Mount of Olives
On Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at 6 pm, in the small conference hall of the Solzhenitsyn House of Russia Abroad, there will be a presentation of the book by PhD. GI Shevtsova Abbess Tamara: "I Leave My Love to All, published in September 2023 by the St Tikhon's Orthodox University Publishing House in the series "Great Abbesses."
The work is dedicated to the life of Abbess Tamara of the Ascension of the Savior of the Mount of Olives, nee Princess Tatiana Konstantinovna, daughter of Prince Konstantin Konstantinovich Romanov, the famous poet “K.R.” She came to know the bitterness of widowhood, the loss of loved ones and homeland.
Faith in God's Providence helped her to overcome all trials. Having taken monastic vows and becoming abbess of the Mount of Olives Monastery in Jerusalem, her labors greatly contributed to the preservation and development of Russian monasticism in the Holy Land.
The presentation will be attended by the author of the book GI Shevtsova; Count SA Kapnist, founder of the Coordinating Council of Russian Compatriots in France, Deputy Chairman of the Union of Russian Nobility in Paris, Chairman of the Historical Russian Imperial Red Cross; Dr AA Kostryukov, Professor of the Department of History of the Russian Orthodox Church of St Tikhon's Orthodox University, MV Zaporina, methodologist of the Museum of the Family of Grand Duke Konstantin Konstantinovich in the village of Ostashev; Evgeny Agafonov, Senior Editor, St Tikhon's Orthodox University.
