DIOCESE OF AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND: June 29, 2022
Australia’s SS Peter and Paul Cathedral marks the 40th day of the death of Metropolitan Hilarion

On June 24, 2022, on the fortieth day since the death of Metropolitan Hilarion, a commemorative liturgy and memorial service was held at Sydney’s SS Peter and Paul Cathedral in Strathfield. More than 20 priests and deacons from all Russian churches and monasteries in Australia and New Zealand gathered in Sydney to participate in the memorial service. Mitred Archpriest Mikhail Protopopov from Dandenong led the Liturgy. Bishop George of Canberra took part in the service, and parish priests from Sydney and Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Auckland and other places participated. About two hundred parishioners of Sydney temples gathered in the cathedral. The church choir sang beautifully under the direction of Andrey Laptev.
