4/17 August 2021
To His Beatitude
of Kiev and All Ukraine
Your Beatitude, Vladyko:
The event being celebrated now evokes endearment in the hearts of the archpastors, pastors and flock of the Russian Church Abroad, and we offer warm words of congratulations on the anniversary of your elevation to the cathedra of the Metropolitans of Kiev. We offer our heartfelt greetings. May the Chief Pastor Christ bless your further primatial service!
A prayerful archpastor always draws near the people of God, who strive for that inner prayerful flame that warms the hearts of the flock. Your fatherly care for the people, monastic meekness, responsiveness to those in need and other virtues now bring forth their fruits in the form of universal filial love, which like a Divine blessing you have earned. Your service bears witness to those qualities with which a Primate is called upon to serve God and mankind. And on today’s celebration, not only the great flock of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church who witness their filial respectful obedience to you, but we in the diaspora joyfully congratulate Your Beatitude.
We pray to the Lord that He extends your life and your praiseworthy service, granting you strength, health and firmness to the benefit of the Church of Christ and to the consolation of the greatly-loving flock of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church!
Asking your holy prayers for us, I remain with love in Christ,
Metropolitan of Eastern America and New York,
First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia.
