The Chief of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission performs an akathist at the Tomb of the Mother of God on the eve of the Dormition feast

With the blessing of the Curator of the Tomb of the Most-Holy Mother of God in Jerusalem, His Eminence Archbishop Dorotheos of Avila, members of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia performed a prayer service with an akathist to the Most-Holy Mother of God before Her veil, which lies on Her tomb. On Wednesday, August 26, 2020, the nuns of the three convents of the REM gathered on one of the final days of Dormition Lent to pray before the Most-Holy Theotokos. Sisters of Ascension Convent on the Mount of Olives, the Convent of St Mary Magdalene, Equal-to-the-Apostles in Gethsemane and the Community of the Resurrection of Christ in Bethany jointly sang an akathist, at which Archimandrite Roman (Krassovsky), Chief of the REM, officiated.
