His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia congratulates Bishop George of Canberra on his 70th birthday
His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia sent congratulations to His Grace Bishop George of Canberra, Vicar of the Diocese of Australia and New Zealand of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, on his 70th birthday:
To His Grace Bishop George of Canberra, Vicar of the Diocese of Australia and New Zealand
Christ is Risen!
I send my heartfelt greetings on your 70th birthday.
In your younger years, understanding that he who follows Christ will have life everlasting (from the sticheron of Mid-Pentecost), you desired to follow His salvific commandments, making your monastic vows and obtaining theological training. Having studied on Holy Mt Athos, you received the priesthood and with zeal in the Lord, fulfilled your pastoral service at Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville and Holy Cross Monastery in Wayne, WV.
Years later, by Divine Providence, you were consecrated among the successors of the Apostles, and now zealously perform your episcopal labors in the Diocese of Australia and New Zealand, striving to aid His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America and New York.
In recognition of your achievements and on this birthday, I deem it proper to grant to you the Medal of St Innokenty, Metropolitan of Moscow and Kolomens, Second Degree.
Prayerfully wishing you good health, spiritual health and the abundant aid of Christ the Savior in your continuing archpastoral services,
With love in the Risen Lord,
Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia
