Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America and New York celebrates the first Liturgy of Pre-Sanctified Gifts of the year

During the first days of holy Great Lent starting on March 2, 2020, His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America and New York, First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, has been praying at the Synodal Cathedral of Our Lady "of the Sign" in New York, in the presence of the Kursk-Root Icon of the Mother of God.

On Wednesday, March 4, Metropolitan Hilarion, officiated at the Liturgy of Pre-Sanctified Gifts, joined by His Grace Bishop Nicholas of Manhattan and the cathedral clergymen as the Synodal Choir sang under the direction of Protodeacon Vadim Gan. After Blessed be the name of the Lord, His Eminence read the traditional sermon of St Theodore the Studite.

On Sunday, March 8, Metropolitan Hilarion will officiate at Divine Liturgy of St Basil the Great at the Synodal cathedral, to be joined by Vladyka Nicholas and the cathedral’s clergy, after which His Eminence will perform the Rite of Orthodoxy, after which he will share a Lenten trapeza with the clerics and laity.
