Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America and New York leads feast-day celebrations at Epiphany Church in Boston

On Saturday and Sunday, January 18-19, 2020, the great feast of the Baptism of our Lord (Theophany), Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America &and New York paid an archpastoral visit to Holy Epiphany Church in Boston, MA, where he led the divine services for the parish’s patronal feast day.

On Sunday morning, the First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia celebrated Divine Liturgy, co-served by parish rector Archpriest Victor Boldewskul and parish clerics: Archpriest Thomas Reske, Priest Kevin Kalish, Protodeacons Alexander Jarostchuk and Victor Ganson, and Deacon Alexander Kurenkov.

At the Little Entrance, for his dedicated service to the Holy Church, Fr Alexander Kurenkov was elevated to the rank of protodeacon. Singing at the divine services was the parish choir, under the direction of Reader Nicholas Ganson.

Upon conclusion of the Liturgy, Metropolitan Hilarion performed the Great Blessing of Water. After the service, a banquet was held in honor of the parish’s patronal feast.
