The Parish of St Tikhon, Patriarch-Confessor of All Russia, hosts a children’s camp

At the end of this summer, August 31-September 2, 2018, the children’s summer camp hosted by the Parish of St Tikhon, Patriarch-Confessor of All Russia, held its large “Zarnitsa Games,” with the participation of 38 families, parents and children alike.

A moleben services was performed on the evening of August 31, followed by the traditional bonfire and discussion with the parish rector, Fr Evgeny Shchukin, on the topic of family values, parent-child relationships and spiritual life.

On Saturday morning, Divine Liturgy was celebrated under the open skies, after which the Zarnitsa Games began. Six teams competed in various games. The games were interrupted by a discussion session with Fr Evgeny.

After lunch, the elder children prepared contests for the younger kids. The next day, parents and family members of all ages participated in the games, followed by the awarding of prizes. Watercolor painting and crafts were also included in the program. Daily soccer games were also a feature of the event.

Bonfires were held during the evenings, with the singing of songs and conversation.
