On Wednesday morning, November 8, 2017, the feast day of Great Martyr Demetrios of Thessaloniki, Protopriest Wsewolod Drobot died following a long illness. Fr Wsewolod has been a clergyman since 1961. Over the course of many years, he was Rector of Nativity of the Mother of God in Albany, NY. With God's help, he built a magnificent new church in the state capital, along with a parish hall. As the chairman of the spiritual court of the Diocese of Syracuse and Holy Trinity of the Russian Church Abroad, he helped then-Archbishop (later Metropolitan and First Hierarch) Laurus in administrating his diocese. Fr Wsewolod was well-known in the Church Abroad, and was highly valued by archpastors, pastors, monastics and laity for his wealth of experience, humanity and wisdom. A pannikhida will be performed at Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville, NY, on Friday evening at 6:30 pm, and the priestly funeral on Saturday at 9 am. Eternal memory to Fr Wsewolod, and may he repose with the saints!
