PARIS: November 1, 2017
The Union of the Descendants of the Russians of Gallipoli Calls for the Prayerful Commemoration of All Victims of the Years of Strife

The year 2017 is a sorrowful one for the descendants of the Russians of Gallipoli and every Russian person.

Exactly 100 years ago, Russia was covered in darkness: militant atheistic, anti-national, Bolshevik forces seized hold of the Russian land.

In memory of these events, the Union of the Descendants of the Russians of Gallipoli will perform its annual pannikhida commemorating the heroes of the White Moevement and all the victims of the Bolshevik yoke.

Lieutenant-General Baron Wrangel founded the Union of Russians of Gallipoli on November 22, 1921, exactly one year after the arrival of parts of the Russian Army in Gallipoli, in what is now Turkey.

In memory of this event, the directorate of the Union decided to perform a pannikhida on the Saturday closest to November 22 wherever descendants of the Russians of Gallipoli or of the White Army live.

On November 25, 2017, the Union calls upon everyone to pray for our forefathers, heroes of the White Movement and the victims of the Bolshevik yoke. We ask that a pannikhida service be performed where you live to honor our heroic ancestors. We ask that those who plan such events inform us at: contact@udcrg.org
