The First Meeting of the Inter-Council Presence of 2016 Takes Place in Moscow

On April 1, 2016, Sretensky Monastery in Moscow hosted the first meeting of the Inter-Council Presence of the year, chaired by His Eminence Archbishop Mark of Berlin and Germany, to discuss Church law.

A document titled “Church Law Violations by Clergymen and Canonical Sanctions”was the main topic of discussion. Amendments were proposed upon deliberation.

Participating in the session were President of the Publishing Arm of the Russian Orthodox Church, His Eminence Metropolitan Kliment of Kaluga and Borovsk; Archimandrite Savva (Tutunov), Deputy Director of the Chancery of the Moscow Patriarchate; Protopriest Nikolai Balashov, Vice President of the Department of External Church Relations; Protopriest Vladislav Tsypin, professor of the Moscow Theological Academy; Protopriest Andrei Novikov, Prorector of Moscow Theological Academy; Protopriest Alexander Zadornov; Protopriest Ioann Mirolyubov, Secretary of the Commission of the Moscow Patriarchate on Relations with the Old Rite, and Nun Vassa (Larin), teacher of Liturgics at Vienna State University.
