The Abbot of Holy Trinity Monastery Participates in Diocesan Celebrations of Presov Diocese

On Sunday, September 13, 2015, the feast day of the Holy Cincture of the Most-Holy Mother of God, Archimandrite Luke (Murianka), abbot of Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville, NY, participated in a pilgrimage and local diocesan celebrations of Ladomirovo’s Presov Diocese of the Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia.

Divine Liturgy was celebrated by His Beatitude Rastislav, Metropolitan of the Czech Lands and Slovakia, along with His Eminence Archbishop Georgi of Mikhailovsk-Kosica and gathered clergy at Archangel Michael Church in a former men’s monastery, where a portion of the holy relics of St John the Forerunner are kept.

Among the concelebrating clergy were Fr Luke and Archimandrite Seraphim (Shemyatovsky), representative of His Beatitude Metropolitan Rastislav to His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia.

After the solemn service, Metropolitan Rastislav warmly welcomed all the worshipers, invoking Divine blessings upon the clergymen and pilgrims. His Beatitude gave special thanks to Fr Luke, who traveled from the United States and continues the traditions of the Ladomirovo Monastery, once headed by Archbishop Vitaly (Maximenko), renowned Editor-in-Chief of the St Job of Pochaev Publishing House. Metropolitan Laurus (Shkurla) of blessed memory also embarked on his spiritual life at this monastery, now laid to rest at Holy Trinity Monastery.

A procession of the cross took place after Liturgy.
