The Parishioners of Holy Trinity Cathedral Are Organizing a Pilgrimage

Dear Brothers and Sisters!

We invite you to participate in a unique trip to the holy sites of the Russian North, including St Petersburg, Kronstadt, Valaam, the Monasteries of Lake Ladoga and Solovetsky Monastery. This pilgrimage is being organized by All Travel Solutions in cooperation with the Pilgrimage Center of the Moscow Patriarchate and the direct participation of the Rector of Holy Trinity Cathedral in Toronto, Protopriest Vladimir Malchenko.

Pilgrimage Schedule

The pilgrims will fly from Toronto to St Petersburg on May 25, 2008, at 7:30 pm. The return flight to Toronto from St Petersburg will be on June 9 arriving at 6 pm.

    Day1

    May 26

    Arrival at Pulkovo Airport. Meeting of the pilgrims. Transport to St Petersburg. Dinner, registration at Azimut Hotel.
    Day 2

    May 27

    Breakfast. Visit to the Hermitage. Pilgrimage through St Petersburg with visits to Smolensk Cemetery and the Chapel of Blessed Xenia of St Petersburg. Return to the hotel. Free time. Dinner.
    Day 3

    May 28

    Transportation to Priozersk. Trip via boat to Valaam Island. Tour through the Central Monastery grounds and discussion of its history. Lunch at the Monastery refectory. Bus to the sketes of Valaam. Evening services. Dinner.
    Day 4

    May 29

    Morning services. Breakfast. Pilgrimage through Valaam Island. Lunch. Free time. Boat departure from Valaam Island. Return to St Petersburg. Dinner.
    Day 5

    May 30

    Breakfast. Bus trip through the city with a visit to SS Peter and Paul Cathedral, Petropavlovsk Fortress, St Isaac's Cathedral, Savior-on-the-Blood Church, Kazan Cathedral. Dinner. Return to hotel.
    Day 6

    May 31

    Breakfast. Bus to Peterhof. Return to St Petersburg. Visit to St Alexander Nevsky Lavra. Evening services at the monastery. Return to hotel. Dinner. Free time. For those interested, a boat ride along the Neva River under drawbridges.
    Day 7

    June 1

    Morning services at St John's Convent. Breakfast. Trip to Kronstadt. Excursion through the city, visit to the House Museum of St John of Kronstadt. Return to St Petersburg. Dinner.
    Day 8

    June 2

    Breakfast. Bus trip to Vyritsa and Tsarskoye Selo. Visit to Kazan Church, Chapel of St Serafim of Vyritsa and Church of SS Peter and Paul. Travel to Tsarskoye Selo. Visit to Catherine and Alexander Palaces, Royal St Theodore Cathedral. Return to St Petersburg. Dinner.
    Day 9

    June 3

    Breakfast. Checkout. Departure for Tikhvin. Visit to Tikhvin's Dormition Monastery. Veneration of the Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God. Tour of the monastery grounds, discussion of its history, visit to bell tower. Departure for Vvedeno-Oyatsky Convent. Discussion of its history. Veneration of the relics of the parents of St Alexander Svirsky and the Miracle-working Wellspring. Trip to St Alexander Svirsky Monastery. Evening services. Dinner. Departure via train to Kem.
    Day 10

    June 4

    Arrival in Kem. Boat trip to Great Solovetsky Island, arrival in Monastery. Check-in at Solo Hotel. Lunch. Excursion through Great Solovetsky Island and Spaso-Preobrazhensky Monastery. Evening services. Dinner.
    Day 11

    June 5

    Morning services. Breakfast. Bus trip to Sekir Mountain. Free time. Evening services. Dinner.
    Day 12

    June 6

    Breakfast (boxed meal). Boat trip to Anzer Island. Walking tour of approximately 10 km with rest stops. Dinner. Free time.
    Day 13

    June 7

    Morning services. Breakfast. Trip to Zayatsk Island. Check-out. Boat trip to Kem, transfer to train station, departure for St Petersburg.
    Day 14

    June 8

    Arrival in St Petersburg. Check-in to hotel. Dinner in the city. Visit to the Russian Museum. Bus trip through the city with a visit to St Nicholas Naval Cathedral. Return to hotel. Dinner.
    Day 15

    June 9

    Breakfast. Check-out, transportation to airport. Departure from St Petersburg to Toronto.

Price: $3400 if paid by March 10, after which the price is not guaranteed and reservations may not be available.

Included in the price are:

  • Airfare Toronto/St Petersburg, St Petersburg/Toronto;
  • Train tickets (compartment) from Lodeinoye Pole to Kem, Kem to St Petersburg;

  • Transportation to hotels, airports, train stations;

  • Bus fare throughout itinerary;

  • Ferry service Kem to Solovetsk Islands to Kem;

  • Orthodox guides throughout the pilgrimage;

  • Accommodations (double-occupancy) in Azimut Hotel (St Petersburg) for 8 nights, and hotels on Valaam for 3 night and Solovki for 3 nights;

  • Two meals daily;

  • Tickets to museums and excursions.

Not included in the price are:

  • Visas to Russia. All Travel Solutions will help obtain group visas to Russia for this trip.

  • Medical insurance and airfare cancellation insurance may be arranged through All Travel Solutions for additional fees.
