Bishop Peter of Cleveland Visits Montenegro and Serbia

His Grace Bishop Peter of Cleveland traveled to Montenegro and Serbia from July 31-August 10, 2006. In Montenegro he was a guest of Metropolitan Amphilohije of Montenegro and the Coastlands, and visited several monasteries and convents, including those of Cetinje, Moraca and Ostrog, including the Skete of John the Baptist and the Monastery of St Arsenij.

In Serbia, Bishop Peter visited the Convent of Grgeteg on Fruska Gora, where he participated in Saturday's all-night vigil. On Sunday His Grace officiated at Divine Liturgy. Vladyka Peter also visited other monasteries on Fruska Gora and visited Bishop Vasilije of Srem in Sremski-Karlovci.

On Thursday, August 10, on the 70 th anniversary of the death of Metropolitan Anthony (Khrapovitsky) of blessed memory, Bishop Peter, Bishop Lukian of Budapest and Fr Dionisije of Grgetek Monastery served a pannikhida at his crypt under the Russian chapel in Belgrade Cemetery. Two choirs sang at the service, including a Belgrade choir under the direction of Fr Vitaly Tarasiev and the Convent choir accompanying Fr Dionisije.

On Friday, August 11, Bishop Peter left Serbia and returned to his residence in Chicago.
