A Regular Session of the Synod of Bishops is Held

A regular session of the Synod of Bishops under the chairmanship of His Eminence Metropolitan Laurus was held last week at Holy Trinity Monastery. Also participating in these meetings were Archbishop Alypy of Chicago and Detroit, Archbishop Mark of Berlin and Germany, Archbishop Kyrill of San Francisco and Western America, Bishop Gabriel of Manhattan, Bishop Michael of Boston, Bishop Agapit of Stuttgart and Bishop Peter of Cleveland.

The Synod of Bishops heard a report by Protopriest Alexander Lebedeff, sent a letter to His Grace Bishop Alexander of Buenos Aires and South America, who is currently in ill health in Los Angeles, and invoked God’s blessing upon the members of the Commission on discussions with the Moscow Patriarchate, having approved the work of the members of this Commission. The Synod of Bishops also heard reports by the archpastors participating in this Synod session, and by several members of the Synodal Administration. In addition, ecclesiastical awards for clergymen were decided upon.
