Archbishop Mark of Berlin and Germany Makes a Pilgrimage to the Holy Sites of Kievan Rus and Heads a Joint Delegation of the Russian Church Abroad and the Moscow Patriarchate

On October 18, His Eminence Archbishop Mark visited Kievo-Pechersky Lavra and met with Archbishop Mitrofan, Administrator of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate. The delegation consisted of Archbishop Mark, Archbishop Innokenty of Korsun, Protopriest Nikolai Artemoff and Protopriest Nikolai Balashov, Secretary of Inter-Orthodox Relations of the Department of External Church Affairs of the Moscow Patriarchate. The main goals of this trip are to venerate the holy icons and relics of Kievan Rus and to inform the hierarchs of the self-governing Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate of the negotiation process and seek their opinions on the matter.
