A Pannikhida for Russian POWs of WW I Will Be Held in Puchheim

On Wednesday, November 1, 2017, His Eminence Archbishop Mark of Berlin and Germany will perform a pannikhida for the Russian prisoners of war of World War I, together with the brethren of St Job of Pochaev Monastery and the clergymen of the Cathedral of Holy New Martyrs and Confessors in Munich.

The Russian Cemetery at Lagerstrasse 97, 82178 Puchheim (Lena-Christ-Str. - Lagerstr.) is the burial site of 320 Russian soldiers held in German camps during the First World War. The names of all but ten of them are known. Memorial.ru has information on the men. This cemetery opens only once a year, on the Catholic All-Saints Day, November 1.
