WESTERN AMERICAN DIOCESE: October 12, 2016
The Feast Day of the Translation of the Relics of St John (Maximovich) the Miracle-Worker is Celebrated

On Wednesday, October 12, 2016, the feast day of the Translation of Relics of St John of Shanghai and San Francisco the Miracle-worker, the clergymen of the Cathedral of the Mother of God “Joy of All Who Sorrow” in San Francisco, CA, celebrated Divine Liturgy at the chapel dedicated to the holiday, the former crypt of the holy man of God, to a large gathering of worshipers from the US and abroad; even clergymen from Russia joined in the service. Praying at partaking of the Holy Gifts was His Grace Bishop Theodosius of Seattle, Vicar of the Western American Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, who then led the moleben that followed. Services concluded with a procession of the cross which rose to the cathedral, where prayers were read before the relics of St John.

Vladyka Theodosius then congratulated all on this feast day of the great saint of the Russian diaspora, the speedy intercessor for emigres and their descendants, and all who appeal to him with faith, and also wished Divine aid and mercies to all.
