Archbishop Mark of Berlin and Germany Elevates Hieromonk Nicholas (Olhovsky), Elected to be Bishop of Manhattan, to the Rank of Archimandrite

On Sunday, April 27, 2014, the Second Sunday of Pascha, His Eminence Archbishop Mark of Berlin and Germany, during Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of the Holy New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia, and in the presence of the Kursk-Root Icon of the Mother of God "of the Sign," elevated Hieromonk Nicholas (Olhovsky), to the rank of archimandrite, in accordance with a decision of the Synod of Bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia. Fr Nicholas is scheduled to be consecrated the Bishop of Manhattan.

The episcopal consecration of Archimandrite Nicholas will be held in the Cathedral of the Mother of God "Joy of All Who Sorrow" in San Francisco, CA, on June 29, 2014, during the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the canonization of St John (Maximovich) of Shanghai and San Francisco the Miracle-worker.
