BOSTON: October 15, 2010
The New Parish of St John (Maximovich) in Framingham, MA, Celebrates the Feast Day of the Translation of His Relics

On October 12, 2010, the feast day of the Translation of the Holy Relics of St John of Shanghai, the new parish dedicated to his memory in Boston, MA, hosted the arrival of his miter. Attended by a large gathering of worshipers from various parishes in the area, an akathist to St John was performed. Fr Vadim Pismenny, the Parish Rector, performed the service, along with Protopriest Serafim Gan, who brought the relic. Fr Serafim then told the worshipers about the spiritual podvig of Vladyka John and the essence of his Christian love.

As everyone venerated the miter, they were anointed with holy elaion. There were many children among them, along with people of all ages who, prostrating themselves, kissed the miter under the singing of the troparion. After the akathist, the building committee for the new church held a meeting.
